Robert graduated from the US Naval Academy in 1941, definitely one of the most ominous times in our history, and was commissioned as an Ensign. He became an aviator. Unlike many of his former classmates, survived WWII, but was lost, in 1950. His name appears at the Naval Academy, Annapolis, MD, under the heading "Here We Remember Our Shipmates Whose Resting Places Are Known Only To God".
