Anselmo Salaiz Roman, 90, longtime Grant County resident, dies Sunday in Gila Regional Medical Center. He was born April 9,1899, in Deming, retired from Chino Mines, and was a member of the San Lorenzo Catholic Church. Calling hours will be today from 2-9p.m. in Baca's Hillcrest Funeral Chapels where the rosary service will be held at 7 p.m. with Deacon Johnnie Perez officiating. Mass of the Christian burial will be celebrated Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the San Lorenzo Catholic Church with the Rev. Ricardo Hinojal officiating. Interment will follow in Memory Lane Cemetery of Silver City. Survivors are six daughters, Elvira Delgadillo of Los Angeles, Calif., Dora Misquez of Bayard, Lupe Mendoza of Silver City, Beatrice Aguilar of Downey, Calif., and Anita Marquez and Amalia Cordero, both of Huntington Park, Calif,; one sister, Odilia Gandara of Silver City; one brother, Tom Placencio of Gallup; 20 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Maria, in January 1981, and a son, Jose Roman, in March 1988. Casket bearers will be Edward and Daniel Misquez, Paul and George Valencia, Joseph Aguilar and Gilbert Roman. Honorary bearers will be his sons-in-laws, Emilio Delgadillo, Domingo Misquez, Bobby Mendoza, Robert Aguilar, Liberato Marquez and Arthur Cordero. Entrusted to the care of Baca's Hillcrest Funeral Chapels.
