Helen M. Holtz, 86, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, and formerly of Atlantic, Iowa, passed away Thursday, April 3, 2008, at the Clarehouse in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Helen Marie Stinn was born on April 2, 1922, in Panama, Iowa, the daughter of Casper and Regina (Bauer) Stinn.

She was raised in the Panama, Iowa, area and later moved to Walnut, Iowa.

On April 2, 1957, Helen married Marvin Holtz in Atlantic, Iowa. They farmed near Carson, Iowa,and later near Avoca, Iowa. They quit farming in 1964 and moved to Atlantic.

Helen had worked as a dietician for Peace Haven in Walnut, Iowa, and then at the Heritage House in Atlantic for 19 years.

Helen was associated with the Catholic Church and was active in several of the churches organizations. She later joined the Our Savior Lutheran Church in Walnut, Iowa. Helen was also a member of several card clubs.

Helen is survived by her daughter, Nancy Barnett of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; her sons, Robert Bigelow of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, and Darrell Bigelow and his wife, Sheri of Collinsville, Oklahoma; her grandson, Kevin Rater and his wife, Angie of Owasso, Oklahoma; her great~grandson, Cason McIntosh of Owasso, Oklahoma; her sister, Betty Maness and her husband, Larry of Clearwater, Kansas; as well as numerous nieces and nephews; and many great nieces and great nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Casper and Regina Stinn; three children in infancy, Robert Bruce Bigelow, Larry Allan Bigelow and Gloria Jean Bigalow; her husband, Marvin Holtz; brothers, Wilfred Stinn, Donald “Don” Stinn, and Bernard “Vern” Stinn; and her sisters, Catherine “Katie” Bauer and Eileen Sandage.

Visitation with the family is scheduled for Sunday evening, from 7 – 8:00 p.m. at Hockenberrys.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, April 7, 2008, in the chapel at Hockenberry Family Care in Atlantic, with a fellowship and luncheon to follow in the Community Room at Hockenberrys.

Committal services and interment will be in the Avoca Cemetery, Avoca, Iowa.

The family is requesting that memorials be sent to the Clarehouse, 7324 East 49th Place, #3, Tulsa, Okalahoma 74145, in Helen’s memory.
