Jay LaVell Higley passed away suddenly on January 14, 2015 from complications of the flu.
He was born on May 25, 1938 in West Weber, Utah to Henry Higley and Fern Violet England. Jay met and married the love of his life Beth Higley on June 21, 2008. He enjoyed spending time with Beth in their homes in Afton, Wyoming and St. George, Utah. Jay worked as a welder/fitter for Simpson Steel for 42 years. There, he demonstrated the value of hard work. Jay enjoyed family and friends and was most happy when he was doing something for others. Jay always kept himself busy by tinkering on some sort of project. Jay also loved reminiscing about his trips to Alaska and Hawaii.
The family wishes to convey our sincerest appreciation for the valiant efforts and compassion shown by the physicians, nurses and staff of the RICU at Intermountain Medical Center.
Jay is survived by his wife Beth; daughter Karen (Adrian); son Jerry (Kerri); five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and six siblings. He is preceded in death by his parents, two sons, one brother and one sister.
Funeral services will be held January 24, 2015 in Auburn, Wyoming.
