Miss Mary Jane Farley, daughter of James & Ann Farley, married Michael F Garrigan in 1865 in Mayville, Wisconsin. There was an iron mill in Mayville, Wisconsin and the Garrigan's worked at making charcoal from wood for the iron mill. 1880 Michael F and family, brother Peter and family and the James Farley family all moved to Ingalls, Michigan by horse and wagon. At that time, nearby Stephenson, Michigan was a huge lumbering center. Besides farming, the Garrigan's operated large lime kilns there. After residing there 25 years, the family moved to Nadeau where they have lived for the past 20 years.

Mary Jane was preceded in death of 3 of her children; infant son James in June, 1870, Mayville Wis; daughter Mary Margaret (Maggie) in Nov, 1887, Stephenson, Michigan; and daughter Julia in June, 1903, Stephenson, Michigan.
