Mrs. Betts-Long was born Aug. 12, 1955, in New Boston. She was a retired Lieutenant Colonel with the Air Force and a member of Mount Pisgah Baptist Church, DeKalb.
Survivors include her husband, Andre Ricardo Long of Hillsborough, N.C.; one daughter, Chandra Nicole Long of O’Fallon, Ill.; her mother, Emma Betts of DeKalb; two sisters, Elizabeth Shaw and Sharon Betts of DeKalb; two brothers, Douglas Betts of Clarksvills, Texas, and Glenn “Tim” Betts of Mandeville, ark.; and a number of other relatives.
Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Bates Family Funeral Home. Burial with military honors will be in Garland Cemetery.
Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
