Robert W. "Bob" Beddall Jr., 85, of Shenandoah, passed away Thursday at Schuylkill Medical Center-East Norwegian Street.
Born in Shenandoah, Aug. 15, 1929, he was the son of the late Robert W. Beddall Sr. and Jennie Shollenberger Beddall.
Bob was a 1947 graduate of the former West Mahanoy Township High School.
On Oct. 12, 1952, in St. Michael Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, Shenandoah, he married the former Helen T. Mahulsky, who survives.
Prior to his retirement, he was employed for many years in sales, having first worked at the former Nesbitt's Cut Rate Drug Store, Shenandoah, and then was the store manager for former Flash Discount, Ashland.
Mr. Beddall was a dedicated and devout member of the First United Methodist Church, Shenandoah, where he served on the Board of Trustees, chairman of the Administrative Council, former financial secretary and was a member of the nominating committee. Bob was a faithful and loyal church volunteer, especially with the annual Easter Egg project. He was currently the secretary, and was also a past president of the Odd Fellows Cemetery Association, Shenandoah and Frackville.
Bob was a member and former president of the Ashland Rotary. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed the sport with his many friends.
Surviving, in addition to his wife of 62 years, are one sister, Doris M. Taylor, Shenandoah; one nephew, George H. Taylor Jr. and his wife, Connie; a great-niece, Amanda Taylor; and a great-great-nephew, Chase, all of Shenandoah; a great-nephew, Ricky Yarnitsky and his wife, Heather; and great-great-twin nephew and niece, Bryden and Kadence, all of Ringtown; cousins also survive.
Prayer and scripture services will be held in the First United Methodist Church, 38 E. Oak St., Shenandoah. The Rev. Christopher Wollyung, pastor, will officiate. Interment was in St. Michael Ukrainian Greek Catholic Cemetery, Shenandoah Heights. Walukiewicz-Oravitz Fell Funeral Home, 132 S. Jardin St., Shenandoah, had charge of the arrangements.
