Jane E. Nash, 91, passed away at 3:25 pm Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at Bethalto Care Center with her family by her side. She was born on September 16, 1923 in Barry County, Missouri, the daughter of Harrison and Versa Mae (Tunnell) Furlow. She married Paul Lee Nash on September 26, 1942 in Elk City, KS. She was very proud to have been married for 69 years before he preceded her in death on November 7, 2011. Jane was a homemaker most of her life and had worked in home healthcare. She was a charter member of the First Baptist Church of Bethalto. She worked on the committee that helped get the Bethalto Senior Citizen's Building built and she held many offices with Senior Citizens. She will be dearly missed. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and was proud of being part of five generations. She is survived by her children and their spouses, Jerry and Elizabeth Nash of Fosterburg, Maurice “Gene” and Christine Nash of Treasure Island, FL, Richard Paul and Judith Nash of Louisiana, MO, Jackie Nash of Moro and Janet and Andy Asbury of Moro; fourteen grandchildren, Sherri Ashlock, Kelly Manns, Cindy Mayer, Gregory Nash, Jeffrey Nash, Nathaniel Nash, Christina Finke, Charlotte Todd, Michael Greear, James Grieve, Amanda Asbury, Ashton Nash, Tyler Nash, and Dustin Nash; fourteen great grandchildren; two sisters, Rose Yenne of Wood River and Lorene Shive of Rosewood Heights and her nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a daughter, Linda Kay Greear, a grandson, Ricky Dee Nash and her siblings, Eugene Furlow, Clovis “Toby” Furlow, Loyal Furlow, Loretta Yenne and Dorothy Battles. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 pm on Friday, January 23, 2015 at Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto. Funeral services will be at 10 am Saturday, January 24, 2015 at the funeral home with Pastor Chip Faulkner officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto. Memorials may be made to the Bethalto Senior Citizens or the Ladies Auxiliary at the First Baptist Church of Bethalto.
