ELGIN Shane Alexander Smith, 6, son of Joseph and Misshay Amore Smith went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2015.
Services will be at 2 p.m., Saturday, at Crossroads Baptist Church in Elgin with Pastor Larry Thoma officiating.
Burial will be in Elgin Memorial Cemetery under direction of the Elgin Funeral Home.
Shane's book can be signed from 9 a.m. until 7 p.m. today at the funeral home
Shane was born in Lawton, Oklahoma on Jan. 23, 2008. He lived with his parents in Elgin. He enjoyed playing with his sister and cousins. A perfect day for him was a picnic and climbing on Mt Scott. For over two years he has battled cancer. His fight is over and he is at rest in the arms of Jesus. Shane was loved by many young and old, family and friends.
He is survived by his parents, of the home; maternal grandparents, Everett and Linda Thompson Amore, Elgin; paternal grandparents, Arthur and Theresa Parasimo Smith, Stroudsburg, Penn.; his sister, Aurora Smith, of the home; an uncle, Jared and his wife Heidi Amore, Elgin; two aunts, Donna Smith and Ann Marie Smith, both of Stroudsburg, Penn.; cousins: Caleb, Liliana, and Violet Amore, all three of Elgin; and Anna Rose Sanchez and John Sanchez, both of Stroudsburg, Penn.; and a very close and dear friend, Elizabeth Foster, Elgin.
