W.A. "Junior" Asbury, 68, of San Angelo died at 5 a.m. Thursday, May 21, 1992, in Shannon Medical Center.
Graveside servlce will be at 3:30 p.m. Friday, May 22, in Fairmmount Cemetery with the Rev. Bob Nickell of Belmore Baptist Church officiating. Arrangements are under tne direction of Johnson's Funeral Home.
Junior was born Feb. 11, 1924, In Karnes City, Texas, to W. A. 'GREEN' & STELLA MAE (HEATHCOCK) ASBURY . He was a retired concrete finisher who contributed to the growth of San Angelo through the construction of numerous businesses, schools and homes.
He was-preceded in death by his first wife, LOIS (EVANS) ASBURY and by two brothers, MARVIN & FRED ASBURY .
He is survived by his wife, HILDEGARDE ASBURY ; one daughter, Mona McMurray of Garland; one grandson, Aric Escue of Garland; one stepson, Jimmy Villers and his wife, Brenda, of San Angelo; one stepdaughter, Peggy Liebe and her husband, Harold Jr., of San Angelo; four stepgrandchlldren, Shea Harris, Shannon Villers, Wendy Liebo and Nicholas Liebo, all of San Angelo; one sister, ILA MAE SCHULTZ OF San Angelo; two brothers, EDGAR ASBURY of Onalaska, Texas, and LEON ASBURY of San Antonio, Texas; and Several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be David Williams, Scott Copeland, Aric Escue, Harold Liebo, Herbert Minzenmeyer and Melvin Asbury.
Honorary pallbearers will be Loyd Sevier, Joe Lawler, Ray Doyle, and the Louis Pelzel Country Showman Band.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Sociey or a favorite charity.
