Andrea, 52, of Alma, passed away January 21, 2015 at Schnepp Senior Care and Rehab Center in St. Louis. She was the daughter of Alvin and Audrey (DeGroft) Miller.
She was a 1980 graduate of Alma High School and began working at the High School shortly after. Andrea held positions in the Vocational/Guidance Office and was currently working in the Student Services Office. She was a dedicated Panther who proudly served Alma High School Staff and Students for the past 32 years.
Andrea enjoyed reading and always looked forward to her many Casino trips throughout the Mid-West. She loved spending time with her family, many friends and baking birthday cakes for her nieces and nephews. Andrea's greatest joy in life was being a mother.
Andrea is survived by her son, Derek (Ashleigh) Miller of Alma, granddaughter, Daizy, her father, Alvin Miller of Alma, seven siblings, Alvina (Carl) Persons of Kalamazoo, Allen (Neva) Miller of Lansing, Ann Jarrett of St. Louis, Angela Miller of Alma, Albert (Sheri) Miller of Alma, Ardith Miller of Alma, Arleen Miller of Alma and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Audrey Miller, a brother, Andrew Miller, a sister, Adella Miller, a nephew, Kirk Miller, brother-in-law, Jeff Jarrett and her companion, Bill Sterling.
A celebration of Andrea's life was held on Sunday, February 1, 2015 at the Alma High School Gymnasium with Chaplin Wayne Shidler of Heartland Hospice officiating.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Alma High School Athletics, Heartland Hospice or Schnepp Senior Care and Rehab Center.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Lux-Moody-Wolfel Funeral Home, Alma.
