Michael J. Bruner, 65, passed away peacefully in his home April 8, 2013 after losing his battle with cancer. He was born in Kansas City, the son of Anna Mae and Lloyd Bruner. He was preceded in death by his twin brother, David, his sister, Pauline and his step father, Clarence (Stub) Denny. He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Connie, and daughters, Kelly and Nikki. He is also survived by his loving mother, Anna Mae (Parker) Denny; brother, Larry Bruner; sisters, Elizabeth (Betty) and Marianne (Susie) Denny; and grandsons, Dalton Price and Nicholas (Zach) McKenzie; along with several nieces, nephews and loving friends. Mike graduated from Topeka High School in 1965. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. After four years of service to his Country, he went to work at All City Appliance in Topeka, Kansas. He then became a Millwright with Austin Building Company in Dallas, Texas. Mike retired in 2011 after 23 years with Bruner Construction, Kansas City, Missouri. He was an expert fly fisherman and enjoyed trips to Roaring River for trout fishing.
Visitation will be 9:00 AM Friday April 12 Services will be 10:00 AM, at High Park Funeral Home, 4101 State Avenue, Kansas City, KS 66102.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Mike’s name to Asera Care Hospice, 11020 NW Ambassador Drive, Suite 305, Kansas City, MO 64150.
