Ivey Madison Crump Sr.

Ivey Madison Crump Sr., age 78, died after a prolonged illness on Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at Osprey Village surrounded by family and friends. The son of James Madison Crump and Estelle (Crosby) Crump he was born in Bristol, Georgia on July 17, 1937; the youngest and last living of seven children. He is survived by: his loving wife of fifty eight years Mary (Walker) Crump; three sons, Ivey Crump (Erin), James Edwin Crump, and Kevin Crump (Danna); grandchildren, Josh Crump, Erica Newlin (Jimmy), Matt Crump, Colby Crump, Catherine Crump and two great grandchildren James Crump and Matthew Crump as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was a member of the Yulee Baptist Church, the Lions Club, and a founding father of the Yulee Little League where over the years he served as Coach, Secretary, Treasurer, Vice President and President. He worked at Terminal Paper Bag in Yulee for 42 years holding positions such as floor supervisor, shipping manager, Assistant Plant Manager, and Plant Manager. He founded five companies; Pallet Services, First Coast Pallet, South East Unloading, Diversified Pallets Incorporated (DPI) and C&S Land. The Crump Family would like to extend their deepest and heartfelt thanks to the Osprey Village staff, Dr. Smith, Dr. Rodeffer, Community Hospice of Northeast Florida, Yulee Baptist Church, and to all the friends who have so willingly pitched in to help during this trying time. The funeral service is to be held at Yulee Baptist Church, 85971 Harts Road, Yulee Fl, 32097 on Friday, January 23rd at 11:00 AM with Reverend Doug Sides, officiating. Interment will follow in Hughes Cemetery, Yulee, FL. The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 22nd from 5:00PM to 7:00PM at Oxley Heard Funeral Home at 1305 Atlantic Avenue, Fernandina Beach, Florida. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations be made to Community Hospice of Northeast Florida.
