INJURIES FATAL TO MINE WORKER
Noah Asher Succumbs After Accident at Bluebird No. 1; Family Resides Here
PICHER, Aug. 24—Noah Asher, 31 years old, residing one mile west of the Miami cemetery, died at a local hospital about 12 o'clock last night as the result of injuries received yesterday afternoon at the Bluebird No. 1 mine, near Commerce, where he was employed as ground foreman.
Asher was struck on the head by either a timber or boulder falling from the side of the mine shaft as he was being hoisted from the bottom of the shaft. He received a fractured skull and did not regain consciousness.
Asher is survived by his wife, Mrs. Hulda Asher of Miami, two sons, Leonard James and Raymond Harry Asher and one daughter, Pauline Marie Asher, all of the home; his mother, Mrs. Charles Summers of Miami; two sisters, Mrs. J. H. Carey of Miami, and Mrs. Charles Halt of Sedalia, Mo., and one brother Lawrence Summers of Miami.
The Body will be taken Wednesday afternoon by the Cooper Undertaking company to the home of the mother, Mrs. Charles Summers, 412 C street southwest. Funeral arrangements are incomplete awaiting word from relatives.

Noah Asher Funeral To Be Held Friday
Funeral services for Noah Asher, who died Tuesday night at a Picher hospital as the result of injury received at the Bluebird mine, will be held at 11 o'clock Friday morning at the home of his mother. Mrs. Charles Summers, 412 C street southwest. The Rev. J. Grover Scales will officiate. Pallbearers will be: John Elmer, William Dixon, Albert Pierce, Earnest East, Dimbo Hannan and Munson Poteete. Burial will be in the G. A. R. cemetery under the direction of the Cooper Undertaking company.
