Debra retired as a bus driver for Alliance City Schools. She was a real estate agent for Re/Max in Alliance and later worked for Guernsey County Board of DD. She was a member of Summerfield Church of Christ. She will always be remembered for the love she had for her Lord and her family. She enjoyed horseback riding, cooking from scratch, cross stitching, hunting and reading her Bible. She and her husband, Jay Dee, took joy in raising miniature donkeys.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband and the love of her life, Jay Dee Kerns, whom she married June 3, 2006; two daughters, Wendy (Mike) Byler of Alliance and Meegan (Robert Hottinger) Kerns of Kimbolton, Ohio; three sons, Bob (Christie) McNutt of Alliance, Bryan (Kim) Kerns of Zanesville, Ohio, and Chad (Tracey) Kerns of Kimbolton; 14 grandchildren, Cody and Courtney Byler, Evan and Eliza McNutt, Drew, Ethan and Carson Kerns, Austin and Jake Mahan, Cooper and Laken Kerns, and Brynn, Brady and Brycen Hottinger; sister, Alona (Don) Everson of Canfield, Ohio; two brothers, Dennis (Dee) Bauman of Minerva, Ohio, and Mike (Kathy) Bauman of Beloit, Ohio; and mother-in-law, Betty Mallett of Caldwell. She is also survived by several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and friends.
Burial will follow in Eastern Cemetery in Summerfield.
