Newport, NH: Elizabeth Ann Woodard, 95, of Sunapee Street passed away following a brief period of declining health in New London, NH, Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at the Wm. Clough extended Care Center where she received wonderful care.

Elizabeth was born in Windsor, VT, December 13, 1919, daughter to the late Francis and Lillian (Colburn) Madden. She was raised and educated in Saranac Lake, NY where she went to St. Bernard's Catholic School. Betty worked at Goodyear Tire and Rubber in Windsor and it was while working there that she met Kenneth Woodard whom she married and shared 55 years together until his death January 5, 1996. Betty made the move to Newport to make her home and has been so for 70 years.. She was a faithful communicant of St. Patrick's Parish; she ran a farm stand at her home for many, many years, was a dispatcher for the Newport Police Department and worked at Micro-Precision in Sunapee, where she had the chance to meet President Ronald Reagan. Her hobbies included crafts, making jams, seasonal decorating, bird watching, and also watching for the deer and the Blue Heron.
