George W. Goodrich, 94, Cameron, Wis., died Friday, April 28, 2006, at Lakeview Medical Center, Rice Lake.

He was born March 13, 1912, to Oscar and Pearl (Goman) Goodrich at Canton and was raised on the home farm east of Cameron.

On April 24, 1933, he married Louana Kurschner at Barron. George worked at many jobs throughout his life. He hauled milk for the Rice Lake Creamery, worked for the Town of Sumner, operated two portable sawmills with his brothers and owned and operated the lumberyard at Weyerhaeuser for 20 years. At the age of 58, he sold the lumberyard and enjoyed fishing for many years.

Surviving in addition to his wife are daughters, Shelby (Rob) Anderson of Madison and Janet Fredrickson (David Thompson) of Cameron; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two infant daughters, four brothers and two sisters.

Services were held on Tuesday, May 2, from Mark Rausch Funeral Home, Cameron with Terry Ault and Perry Pearson officiating. Interment was at Sumner Cemetery, Town of Sumner, Barron County. [Based on an obituary obtained 4 May 2006 from news-shield.com.]
