Mildred Irene Birdsall, 91, of Washington, Missouri, and formerly of Jacksonville, died Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2015, at Grandview Healthcare Center in Washington, Missouri.

She was born Nov. 7, 1923, in Eola, Oklahoma, the daughter of Dallas B. and Sarah Francis Faust Berry. She married Jesse Harding Birdsall in March of 1943 in Sand Springs, Idaho, and he preceded her in death on Dec. 3, 2005.

Mrs. Birdsall is survived by six children, Larry Birdsall of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Ron (wife, Donna) Birdsall of Adrian, Michigan, Diana Birdsall of Washington, Missouri, Daniel (wife, Patty) Birdsall of Frisco, Texas, Betsy Davis of Cape Coral, Florida, and John (companion, Jan Smith) Birdsall of Villa Ridge, Missouri; 17 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

Ten brothers and sisters preceded her in death.

Mrs. Birdsall was a homemaker and had worked alongside her husband in his dental laboratory. She was an avid reader and writer, and had published over 200 poems. Musically gifted, she loved singing, playing the organ, and directing music. Above all else, Millie cherished her role as a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved cooking for her family, traveling, and raising her children to share her strong faith in God.

A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at Williamson Funeral Home, with burial at Diamond Grove Cemetery. The family will meet friends one hour prior to the service.

Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
