Hubert Coleman Crosby Jr. Chilhowie, Va. Hubert Coleman Crosby, Jr. age 60, passed away on Wednesday January 21, 2015 at the Smyth County Community Hospital in Marion, Virginia. He was born in Modesto, California to the late Alta Fielder and Hubert Crosby, Sr. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Butch Crosby. Hubert was an avid hunter. He was a very loving husband, father, and grandfather and will be missed by all. Survivors include his wife: Mary Mason Crosby, Chilhowie, VA; Children: Daylean Crosby, Erwin, TN, Angela Crosby Peters, Johnson City, TN, Hubert Crosby III, Johnson City, TN, and Tina Woods and husband, Wayne, Sugar Grove, VA; Sisters: Anita Blythe, TX, Rose Cannell, CA, and Dolores Crosby, CA; Thirteen Grandchildren; Two Great Grandchildren; and Loving Friend: Scrappy. The family would like to send a special Thanks to the staff at the Smyth Co. Community Hospital and the Wytheville Hospice. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. on Saturday January 24, 2015 at the Bradley's Funeral Chapel in Chilhowie with Pastor Michael Hopkins officiating. Interment will follow in the St. James Lutheran Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 12 until 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
