Frances Aswad, 56, passed away Dec. 16, 2007, in Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. She was born to Richard Buie Sr. and the late Marie Buie. Frances is survived by her son, Omar Aswad; her daughter, Annette Beamon and son-in-law, Gerald Beamon; a very special friend, James Bynum, who was by her side during her entire illness; brothers, Richard Buie Jr., of Norfolk, Thomas Buie of Norfolk and Tyrone Buie of Atlanta; sisters, Helen Williams of Brooklyn, N.Y. and Joyce Aquil of Norfolk and a predeceased brother, Milton Buie; three grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of extended family members. She was the co-founder of Children of the Sun Athletic/ Education Foundation and athletic director of the soccer team. The burial prayer will be offered Wednesday at 11 a.m. in Riddick Funeral Service, Norfolk.
