FUNERAL SERVICES LARGELY ATTENDED
MOUNT PLEASANT, October 10 -- Funeral Services were held yesterday afternoon in the South Ward Chapel for Mrs. Susannah F. MERZ ALLEN, whose death Monday followed a long illness from complications and general debility. The Services were in charge of Bishop A. E. McIntosh and the invocation was offered by Mads Anderson.
The speakers were President C. N. Lund, J. W. Andersen, Daniel Rasmussen, Bishop A. E. McIntosh and Dr. S. H. Allen of Salt Lake. Several beautiful vocal selections were sung by Mr. and Mrs. H. G. Ericksen, accompanied by the South ward choir. The benediction was pronounced by Kimball Johansen, and the grave was dedicated by Mads Andersen.
A wealth of floral offerings testified to the esteem in which Mrs. ALLEN, who had been an ardent church worker for many years past, was held. She is survived by two sons, Adolph MERZ, president of the North Sanpete Stake, and Hyrum MERZ, and two daughters, Mrs. Simon HUGENTOBLER and Mrs. Joseph HUGENTOBLER of Salina.
Mrs. ALLEN was born in Switzerland, March 04, 1847. She came to Utah as a widow in 1882 and had since made her home in Mount Pleasant. She was married in 1909 to the late S. H. ALLEN, who preceded her in death.
