Charles Julius Beach, 70, Eminence, died Thursday, July 10, 2008 at Masonic Home of Shelbyville following a long illness. A native of Shelby County, he was the son of the late Robert and Mary Alice Samuels Beach. He was retired from Jewish Hospital, Shelbyville, where he worked as an orderly in excess of 30 years. He was a member of Second Baptist Church in Campbellsburg.He was a quiet individual, but had a wonderful sense of humor. In his leisure time, he enjoyed watching television.In addition to his parents, three sisters, Della Beach, Anna Pearl Beach and Mary Elizabeth Wright, and one brother, William Beach, preceded him in death.Survivors include three sisters, Georgia Beechum of Louisville and Barbara D. Marshall and Minnie Dotson, both of Shelbyville; three brothers, John Beach, James Beach and Thomas Lee Beach, all of Shelbyville; his loving companion, Pamela Barber; his aunt, Frances Beckley of Shelbyville and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.Rev. Robert M. Marshall, Sr. will officiate at the funeral services on Sunday. Private burial services will be held at Calvary Cemetery on Monday.Morton-Beckley Funeral Directors have been entrusted with the arrangements.
