On September 1, 2014,Rev. Lloyd Abbott took the hand of his Lord and Savior and received his heavenly home and is now walking in Heaven. Rev. Abbott devoted most of his earthly life of 47 years to serving his Lord; with spreading the word of the Holy Bible to those on earth and the Salvation of Jesus Christ.
He was born here on earth in Cambridge, Maryland on Saturday, April 2, 1932. He was the son of the belated Rev. Clarence J. and Lola L. (Huffman) Abbott. He is survived by his wife, children, and grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He was devoted to his family.
He was a retired Church of God Pastor, with a Home Office in Cleveland, Tennessee. He was an Ordained Bishop in The Church of God and served in many offices of the church, including on the State Council and the Youth Board. Rev. Abbott currently was serving on the Board of Directors for the Retired Ministers and was a golf starter at the Bedford Springs Hotel for the past ten years. He enjoyed being out of doors and loved nature and was an avid golfer.
