He was born Dec. 6, 1926, in Springfield, to Dean and Edith Frantz Oglesby. He married Audrey Reeves in 1958 and she preceded him in death in 2008.
Survivors include a daughter, Kate ; son, Dale ; two grandchildren,; three brothers, James, Donald and Kenneth and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
His parents, wife and one brother, Thomas, preceded him in death.
Mr. Oglesby attended schools in Springfield and was a graduate of Springfield Junior College (now Benedictine University) and the College of Engineering at the University of Illinois at Champaign. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War. He was a professional civil engineer and a professional land surveyor, retiring in 1995 from Auby, Oglesby and Bartolomucci Consulting Engineers.
He was a member of St. James Catholic Church in Riverton and was a former Samaritan volunteer at St. John's Hospital. He was a member of the American Numismatic Association and was a former member of the Illinois Society of Professional Engineers and the Illinois Professional Land Surveyors Association.
