Mrs. Eva Andersen Simons, 65, died Friday evening at the family home after an extended illness.
Mrs. Simons was born in Mt. Pleasant, Oct. 2, 1885, a daughter of pioneer parents, Mads and Christina Petersen Andersen. She was educated in the Mt. Pleasant schools and before her marriage was employed in the Progress Mercantile Store. She was married in Manti, Feb. 14, 1910 to Samuel C. Simons. The marriage was later solemnized in the Manti Temple, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She had been an active LDS church worker in the South Ward, serving many years as a teacher in the Primary Association, Sunday School, and Relief Society.
Surviving are her husband, three sons, Lynn, Neal, and Orval Simons all of Mt. Pleasant, a daughter, Mrs. Don (Alberis) of Dragerton; one brother, Marvin Andersen, of Salt Lake City; one sister, Mrs. Ruby A. Mann of Provo; and five grandchildren.
