Ray Gene Bishop of Elmore City, Oklahoma was born to Claud Justin and Leora Maud (Shugart) Bishop in Bell County, Texas on July 16, 1945 and passed from this life in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on October 24, 2013 at the age of 68 years.
Ray grew up and attended school in Hawley, Texas. He worked on a ranch and then became a self-employed truck driver. Ray worked hard at an early age to support his family. In June of 2012, Ray made his home in Elmore City, Oklahoma. On September 14, 2013, he married Shelley Hudson in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. In his spare time he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and doing mechanic work. He was a loving husband, father, and was a workaholic.

3 daughters: Regina Redman of Midland, Texas, Sheree Cox and husband Tyler of Ada, Oklahoma, Jennifer Fincannon and husband Brad of Logan, New Mexico.
2 brothers: Leroy Bishop and wife Faye of Kingsville, Texas, Herbert Bishop and wife Rose of Kingsville, Texas.
2 sisters: Mary Lynn Stephens and husband Danny of Odessa, Texas, Phyllis Cowey of Sequin, Texas.
