Ruthie Hayse Griffin, age 77, died Sunday, December 21, 2014, in Sanctuary Hospice House at Tupelo.
Born December 24, 1937, in Thaxton, Mrs. Griffin was a daughter of the late Connie and Pauline Carroll Hayse. Ruthie was a devoted mother and grandmother, who loved animals, cooking, being outdoors and spending time with her family and grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Saturday, December 27, from 11 a.m. until noon in Seven Oaks Funeral Home at Water Valley. A memorial service will follow visitation at 12 p.m. in the Henry Chapel of the funeral home with Bro. Lynn Jones officiating.
Survivors include two daughters, Sandra Kay (Lyle) Montesi of Germantown, Tenn. and Deborah Fullerton of Water Valley; two sons, James (Barbara) Griffin and Marty Griffin, all of Water Valley; a sister, Ruby Doris Meritt of Corpus Christi, Texas; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Marrell McKinley Griffin, Sr. and her daughter, Brenda Griffin.
