Richard D. Roush, 93, of North Liberty, IN, passed away at 12:25 p.m. on Monday, January 19, 2015 at Miller’s Merry Manor, Walkerton, IN. He was born on November 20, 1921 in North Liberty to the late Claude E. and LuLu M. (Tinkey) Roush. On May 31, 1942 in North Liberty, IN, Richard was united in marriage to Ruth L. Hittle who preceded him in death on October 30, 2014 after seventy-two years of marriage.

Mr. Roush is survived by his daughter, Nancy D. (Robert) Beghtel of Walkerton, IN; sons, David P. (Judy) Roush of Bremen, IN and William E. Roush of North Liberty, and his special friend, Jane A. Norton; daughter-in-law, Judy Roush of Bridgman, MI; nine grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. Along with his parents and wife, Mr. Roush was preceded in death by his son, Richard K. Roush; sisters, Dorothy Ulbricht and Pearl Roush; and brothers, Darrell, Lyle and George Roush.

Mr. Roush was a lifelong resident of North Liberty. He retired in 1984 after 43 years of employment with Sears in the shipping and receiving department. He was also a self-employed farmer and loved living on the farm. Mr. Roush was a member of the First Baptist Church in North Liberty. He honorably served his country during the WWII with the United States Army and was a member of the American Legion.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 24, 2015 at the First Baptist Church, 407 W. Elm Street, North Liberty, IN. Pastor Wayne Joyner will officiate. Military graveside services and burial will follow at Westlawn Cemetery, North Liberty. Friends may visit with the family from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday, January 23rd, at the Palmer Funeral Home, 202 N. Main Street, North Liberty and one hour prior to the services in the church on Saturday.
