Our loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Ruth Schick Cloward, passed away surrounded by her loving family at her home on January 16, 2015. She was born on July 27, 1930 to George and Ruth Harvey Schick in Kaysville, Utah. She married her sweetheart, Dix W Cloward, on September 18, 1953 in the Logan LDS Temple.
Ruth attended Davis High School and Utah State Agricultural College where she earned a degree in Textiles and marketing. Ruth is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She served on the Pastoral Committee at McKay Dee Hospital, Ward and Stake Relief Society Presidencies, Primary Teacher, Homemaking Specialist, Family History Extraction, and was a faithful Visiting Teacher. Ruth also belonged to Daughters of the Utah Pioneers Camp HoneyBee and Weber State College Faculty Wives organization. She served in the PTA for all of her children's schools, Weber School District Community Council and she was a 4-H leader.
Ruth loved many things, especially spending time with her family. She was highly talented and enjoyed sewing, painting, gardening, canning, genealogy, quilting, baking, traveling, cooking and pottery. She loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They held a special place in her heart. Her life was one of service to her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Ruth is survived by her husband; children, Dixi (Jeff) Rivas, Ron (Julie) Cloward, Cheryl Parkinson, Kim (John) Morris, and Rick (Laurel) Cloward; 18 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren with one on the way; siblings, Alice Rietz, Dorothy Obray, Susie Zobell, George Schick, and Mary Evans.
She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Seth Schick, Sterling Schick, and Kay Moore; one grandchild, Curtis Morris.
Interment Ben Lomond Cemetery, North Ogden.
