Robert Thomas Doughty married thrice:
Robert's first wife was Anne Bailey; they married February 8, 1951 in Fayetteville, Cumberland County, North Carolina, and had one child: son Larry. Unfortunately, Robert and Anne divorced in 1958.
Robert's second wife was Dorothy J. Mazzella [aka Dorothy Jones]; they married January 27, 1961 at Stonington, New London County, Connecticut, and had three children: Gregory; Judith; and Tammy. Unfortunately, Robert and Dorothy divorced in July 1985.
Robert's third wife was Anne Eileen (Dennehey) Roderick; they married May 30, 1966, had no children together; however, Anne brought three Roderick children with her into her marriage with Robert: Marjorie; Jane; and Edward. It was a full-house, to be sure.

Robert Thomas Doughty, 85, of Pawcatuck, Connecticut, died at 11:05 p.m. Saturday night, January 16, 2015, at the Groton Regency Rehabilitation Center. He was the husband of the late Anne (Dennehy) Roderick Doughty and was a lifelong resident of Pawcatuck. Born at home at 6 Loudon Avenue, Pawcatuck, a son of the late Merle Forest Doughty Sr. and Elsie Edna Thomas. He attended West Broad Street grammar School and Stonington High School. September 8, 1948, he enlisted in the U.S. Army. Following basic training and "jump" school, including packing his own 'chutes, in 1949 he was assigned to the 325th Airborne Infantry Regiment as a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne Division. Bob served during the Korean War and was honorably discharged June 28, 1952. He was a member of the Pawcatuck and North Stonington American Legion Post #0152. After 24 years at the Pfizer Company, he retired in 1990. During retirement, Bob and his wife, Anne [Roderick], traveled in their motor home touring the United States for two years, visiting 42 states and covering 27,000 miles. He also enjoyed spending time in Vermont and New Hampshire, and was an avid coin collector and member of the Westerly, Rhode Island Coin Club. Bob is survived by his sons, Larry W. Doughty of Erie, Pennsylvania and Gregory R. Doughty of Old Mystic, Connecticut; daughters, Judith H. Gannon of East Hampton, Connecticut and Tammy M. Moynihan of Westerly, Rhode Island; brother, Charles N. Doughty of Fort Pierce, Florida; step-daughter, Marjorie Zaremba of Pawcatuck; four grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and a close friend, Marion Crandall. He was predeceased by his brothers, Merle F. Doughty Jr., Russell A. Doughty; a sister, Elsie Mae Doughty; a step-son, Edward Roderick; and a step-daughter, Jane Fields. A calling hour will be held from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. followed by a noon service on Wednesday, January 21, 2015, at the Mystic Funeral Home, Route 1, Mystic, Connecticut. Burial will follow at the Stonington Cemetery, 345 North Main Street, Stonington, with full military honors. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Boys Town, PO Box 8000, Boys Town, NE 68010.
