Funeral services for Mrs. Patricia Irene Gatlin, 66, of Austin will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2015, at 2:00 PM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with The Rev. Monsignor James E. Young officiating. Burial will follow at Lazarine Cemetery. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on January 19, 2015, in Austin, Texas.
Rosary will begin at 6:00 PM with visitation following the rosary on Friday, January 23, 2015, from 6:30 to 8:00 PM at Laird Funeral Home.
Patricia was born in Houston, Texas to Raymond Floyd and Juanita Turner Wheeler on May 18, 1948. She grew up in Houston, and attended Sam Houston High School.
She married Lawrence Vivian Gatlin on October 25, 1969.
Named Patricia Irene by her parents, she was the mother, the sister, and the friend everyone loved dearly.
She enjoyed spending time with her children and friends. She also loved outdoor activities, like hunting, fishing, sightseeing, traveling to places she never seen before. She relaxed while working in her garden and reading. She also enjoyed walking on the beach and singing.
Patricia was a member of the Catholic Ladies Guild, Catholic Youth Organization Leader in the 80’s and 90’s, and was a loyal member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Patricia is survived by her son, Lawrence Edward Gatlin of Austin, Texas; daughter, Sueanne Gatlin- Agarwal and husband, Dr. Vikas Agarwal
of Austin, Texas; brother, James Wheeler; sisters, Shirley Wheeler-Bates and Nita Wheeler-Pereiro.
Pallbearers will be Allan Pereiro, Michael Pereiro, Matthew Pereiro, Mark Wheeler, David Strickin and Dale Robinson.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Earl Bates and Jimmy Partin Sr.
