Joan Ashcraft McFarland, age 80, of Camden, SC passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Sunday night, January 18, 2015.

Joan was predeceased by her loving husband, George McFarland, 3 brothers, 2 sisters, and some great friends as well.

Joan was born in Charlotte, NC, the daughter of the late John Ashcraft and Helen Owen Ashcraft. She will forever be remembered by friends and family. Her son, her daughter, 7 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and countless friends and extended family.

Joan was always very active in her church, loved to cook and gather with friends and family. She had a very special friend, her beloved Sir Lancelot, her four-legged companion. Joan cherished her relationships with her dear friends and neighbors.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Building Fund, Hermitage Baptist Church, 814 Jefferson Davis Highway, Camden, SC 29020.

The family will receive friends at Kornegay Funeral Home, Camden Chapel, on Thursday, January 22, 2015 from 6:00-8:00 PM. The funeral will be at Hermitage Baptist Church on Friday, January 23, 2015 at 11:00 AM. The Rev. Jason Fletcher and Rev. Mark Hopkins will officiate. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
