Wilma F. Oliver age 90 of Lincoln passed away Monday, January 19, 2015 at Jamieson Nursing Home, Harrisville. She was born August 14, 1924 in Lincoln to William and Louise (Dodge) Somers. Wilma was a lifelong Lincoln resident and graduated from Oscoda High School in 1942 where she was class valedictorian. On June 3, 1946 she married Norman Oliver. Wilma was a homemaker, a member of the Lincoln United Methodist Church and its WSCS and was a Sunday school teacher there for many years. She bowled for many years in the women’s bowling league and was a former treasurer for the Village of Lincoln. She was also a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Lincoln Chapter # 184. Her husband preceded her in death on February 18, 2014. Her granddaughter Mia Potter and Grandson Mat Potter as well as ten siblings preceded her in death. She is survived by three daughters, Barbara (Jim) Potter of Harrisville, Marilyn (Bernard) Brown of East Lansing and Joyce (Steve) Anderson of Clio, two sons Leroy (Ilona) Oliver of Alger and Keith (Alex Paz) Oliver of Palm Springs CA., five grandchildren, Martin (Julie) Potter, Derek (Carrie) Oliver, Jered Oliver, Courtney Brown, and Ashley Brown, six great grandchildren, Amanda, Joshua, Angel, Edgar, and Hilda Potter and Callan Oliver, two step grandchildren, Lance and Marcie Anderson, and a sister-in-law Peg Somers of Redford. Visitation will be Thursday at Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln from 2-8 P.M.. Visitation continues Friday from 11:00 A.M. until the funeral at 1:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Rev. Mary Soderholm will officiate. Spring burial will take place at Twin Lakes Cemetery, Lincoln. Memorials suggested to Alcona Food Bank, P.O.Box 342, Harrisville, MI or the Alcona Humane Society.
