#1 ATS's Avro Anson (#1625) aircraft, with an aircrew of four, crashed during a navigational exercise near Oak Lake, Manitoba, taking the lives of the entire crew.

Son of Charles Herbert and Mildred Jessie (née Burridge) Howarth of London, Ontario [father born in Yorkshire, England; mother born in London, Ontario.

Sergeant Harry Albert Howarth is commemorated on Page 33 of Canada's Second World War Book of Remembrance.
