GREENFIELD – Paula Rae (Mooney) Phillips, age 64, of Greenfield, passed away Friday, January 16, 2015 at Hancock Regional Hospital. She was born on November 15, 1950 in Spencer, IA the daughter of D. Douglas and Hazel F. (Brott) Mooney. She graduated from Maxwell High School. Paula married Bernard C. Phillips on June 29, 1985 in Indianapolis.
She worked for Shirley Brothers Funeral Home as a housekeeper for 29 years and was a lifetime member of the Christian Tabernacle Apostolic Church.
Paula is survived by her mother, Hazel F. Mooney; brother, Norman (Ilze) Mooney of Martinsville, IN; five sisters, Joyce (David) Hodges of Indianapolis, IN, Marlys (Mike) Shields of Bloomington, IN, Susan (Larry) Kendrick of Indianapolis, IN, Aleta (Andrew) Frye of Rogers, AR, and Beth (Curtis) Benninghoff of Midland, TX. She was a special aunt who treated all her nieces and nephews like her own kids. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard C. Phillips and father, D. Douglas Mooney.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 20, 2015, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Christian Tabernacle, 802 South Franklin Road, Indianapolis, IN 46239. A funeral service will be held immediately following the visitation at 1:00 p.m. Reverend Kent Jordan and Reverend Paul Mooney will be officiating. Burial will follow at Park Cemetery in Greenfield.
