Jeffrey L. Jackson, 52, Michigan City, was called home at 8:58 p.m. Jan. 13, 2015 at Franciscan St. Anthony Health.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday at High Praise Outreach Ministries 1007 U.S. Highway 20, Michigan City, with Pastor Jack Benning, officiating; burial to follow at Swan Lake Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Visitation will be at 9 a.m. Friday at the church until the time of service.

Jeffrey was born Aug. 6, 1962, in Charleston, Missouri, to the late Walter Jackson Jr. and Mildred (Haynes) Jackson.

He married Paulette Duncan in Michigan City, Indiana, and to their union one daughter, Catrina, was born.

Jeffrey made the wise choice of accepting the Lord as his personal savior and was a member of God's Grace Deliverance Ministry, under the leadership of pastors Jack and Annie Benning.

Earning his GED from the A.K Smith Career Center, Jeffrey was among the first to earn his CDL from a pilot program designed for youth. For this accomplishment, he was honored by Indiana's governor. He was well known for driving trucks and for his mechanical ability. He could fix anything with a motor. He worked for TCI Trucking. He loved traveling, reading, studying the bible, fishing and being with his family and friends. He also loved to encourage people to learn from his mistakes and to make Jesus an integral part of their lives.

He leaves to cherish his fond memories, the love of his life, wife, Paulette Duncan-Jackson, Michigan City; daughter, Catrina Duncan; son, Jason Walker, Milwaukee; goddaughter, Tasha Powell, Indianapolis; stepchildren, Evelyn (Tyrone) George, Michigan City, Jermale (Jennifer) Duncan, Terre Haute, Indiana, Darryl Duncan and Joshua Duncan, both of Michigan City; one sister, Lisa Jackson, Michigan City; godsisters, Keturah (Leo) Lewis, Paulette (Dexter) Means and Shantal Brown, all of Michigan City; two special friends, Bobby Armstrong and Laishun Carr and a host of grandchildren, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Derrick Jackson and Grady Jackson.
