Marlene Elizabeth Rowe, age 74, of Kendallville, died on Saturday, January 17, 2015 at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Mrs. Rowe was born in Auburn, Indiana on April 13, 1940 to the late Jarl David Dawson and Wilma Marcele (Ladd) Dawson.

She graduated from Kendallville High School in 1958.

Marlene was the well known as the manager and florist of the Kendallville Farm Store for many years. She was also the activities director at several area nursing homes for several years. In the past, she managed the Speedway gas station and worked at Harmon's IGA both in Kendallville.

Her deep faith in God, love for her family, and dedication to her church was the cornerstone of her life. She was a 50 year member of the Church of the Nazarene and CrossPointe Family Church of the Nazarene both in Kendallville. She was a Sunday school teacher, church secretary, funeral dinner coordinator, served on the church board and served in many other capasities in the church. Marlene received the 50 year Distinguished Service award from CrossPointe Church in 2014.

She graduated from clown school and was Glitter the clown for many years. Glitter as a ministry outreach to show people the love of God and reach the lost with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Marlene also provided meals and snacks for the staff and students at The Wreck. She was an avid artist and very creative person. She enjoyed oil painting, pottery, crafts and quilting. She painted the murals at the church and made pillow cases for the women and children at the Noble House in Albion. She was a member of the Noble County Extension Homemaker's Club and Quilting Club.

Daughter, Rosemary and Marvin Bailey of Avilla.
Son, Randy Rowe of Hudson.
Daughter, Rachel and William Curtis of Greencastle.
Daughter, Roxanne Caldwell and Ron Rafine of Butler.
Daughter, Regina and Dave Christian of Kendallville.
Son, Ryan and Tara Rowe of Kendallville.
18 grandchildren: Eric and Jen Bailey of Markle; Tiffany and Jeremy Knecht of Fort Wayne; Tarah and Joshua Robinson of San Diego, California; Layne Bailey and John Norton of Goshen; Shelley and Loren Gentry of Danville, Indiana; Mary Ann and James Kershaw of Plainfield; Adam Roberts and Taylor Knoop of Rosewood, Ohio; Amanda and Tim Hoffman of Noblesville; Josh Rowe and Nate Caldwell both of Butler; Phillip and Heather Perlich,II of Avilla; Dallas and Kayla Perlich of Kendallville; Shana Christian of Kendallville; Ashley Christian and Dustin Gourley of Fort Wayne; Sarah and Joe Mock of Kendallville; Jacob Rowe, Miles Rowe, and Sofia Rowe all of Kendallville. 18 great grandchildren.
Sister-in-law, Dixie Dawson of Missouri. Three nieces and one nephew.

She was also preceded in death by her brother, Dennis Dawson.

Casketbearers will be her son, Ryan and grandsons, Eric, Josh, Nate, Dallas, and Phil. Honorary bearers will be Jacob and Miles.

Burial will be at Waterloo Cemetery.
