Ellen Adams was born October 18, 1851, the daughter of George and Cynthia Adams in the town of Edmeston. She was united in marriage with Henry Chase September 10, 1872. His death occurred May 8, 1917. Since her marriage nearly all of her life had been spent in Roseboom except for periods of a few years each spent in the towns of Springfield and Cherry Valley. She was at one time a member of the Springfield Center Chapter, O. E. S. She was always interested in the welfare of the community in which she lived and was much beloved by all who knew her ... Surviving the deceased are a brother, Charles Adams, a nephew, Jay Adams, and two grand nephews all of Catskill, N. Y., and one niece, Mrs. George Wood, and a grand niece of Sidney, N.Y., and a grand nephew of Oneonta. The funeral was largely attended at the Baptist church, Wednesday, at 2 p. m., the Rev. Raymond D. Eveland, her pastor, officiating, assisted by the Rev. Clarence C. Goodell of the Methodist church, and the interment was in the village cemetery beside her husband ..."
