Clifton Arnett Poindexter, 91, passed away Wednesday, November 22, 2006. He was born the son of Molly Arnett and Clifton Poindexter on January 2, 1915 in Brighton, Tennessee. He served in the United States Navy as a radioman in a PBY Patrol Plane and on the destroyer, the USS Earle in the Mediterranean Sea. Mr. Poindexter was active in the Boy Scouts for several years and had a great love of camping and the outdoors. He was an electronics engineer for the Federal Aviation Administration from which he retired after thirty years of service. He is survived by his wife of sixty years, Bernice Soule Poindexter, sons, Leon Poindexter and Al Poindexter and his wife, Carole, grandchildren, Avery and James Poindexter, and sister in law Dorothy Poindexter. Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Sunday, November 26, 2006 at Hardage-Giddens Mandarin Funeral Home Chapel, 11801 San Jose Boulevard. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services on Sunday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Clopton United Methodist Church, Brighton Clopton Road, Brighton, Tennessee 38019. Hardage-Giddens Mandarin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
