Henry Cook aka Heinrich Koch, son of Johannes Heinrich Koch and Anna Maria, maiden name unknown of Weringerode, Thüringen, Germany. Henry Cook married Mary Magdalene Hudlow aka Magdalene Mary Hudlow in 1783 in Frederick Co. Virginia. She was born 2 November 1768 in Frederick Co., Virginia and died 1825 in Rockingham Co, Virginia.

They are buried in the Cook-Dovel Cemetery, McGaheysville, Rockingham Co. Virginia located one-half mile west of East Pont Church on the Massanutten Mountain Road. Note: The Cook-Dovel cemetery has more or less been abandoned as all the tombstones or memorial stones are gone and nothing remains of the cemetery.

Henry Cook was a Private in Captain William Nalle Company Augusta County Virginia Militia at the Battle of Point Pleasant on 10 October 1774 in what was called "Dunmore"s War" He was a Private in Captain Thomas Hill’s Company of the 7th Virginia Regiment during the Revolutionary War.

It would seem that Heinrich Koch aka Henry Cook and his wife were members of the Peaked Mountain Church in Rockingham Co., Virginia. Their eldest child Jacob Cook was baptized on 20 April 1785 by Reverend Charles Schmidt.

It is probable that they were married at the Peaked Mountain Church in 1783 by Reverend Charles Schmidt? Peaked Mountain, is now called “Massanutten Mountain” near Keezelton and close to Harrisonburg, and Elkton Virginia.
