She was the daughter of the late Morgan and Nannie Fleming Sutherland. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ivan Carl Trivett in 1987; three brothers, George, Elmer and Delmer Sutherland; one grandson, Gregory Campbell; two great grandsons, Kelly Barker and A.J. McNeal, and one great granddaughter, Shania McNeal.

She retired as an LPN from Carter County Memorial Hospital.

She was an active member of the Elizabethton Senior Citizens Center. She gained many close friends over the years while attending activities sponsored by the Senior Center. She enjoyed volunteering and helping others.

She was a member of Gap Creek Christian Church, Elizabethton.

Funeral services were conducted at 8 p.m. Monday, January 19, 2004 in Memorial Funeral Chapel.

Graveside services and burial were held at noon Tuesday, January 20, 2004 in Happy Valley Memorial Park.
