Evening Times; Cumberland, Maryland, Saturday, January 25, 1941: Thomas B. Kean, 60, former contractor, 15 South Smallwood Street, died this morning at Allegany Hospital where he had been a patient since October 21.  Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Eleanor B. (Percy) Kean and two sisters, Mrs. George F. McDonnell, Chicago and Mrs. Cecelia J. Ward, this city.  His first wife, the former Laura Decker, died 33 years ago.  A native of Cumberland, Mr. Kean was the son of the late Michael and Mary (Driscoll) Kean.  He was a nephew of former Mayor George A. Kean and of former Postmaster Daniel E. Kean and was active in Democratic party circles.  Mr. Kean started as a water boy for his uncle George A. Kean and later was associated with him in the contracting business.  Later he was engaged with Martin M. Corrigan as a General Contractor.  He had been in poor health for a number of years.  The body will remain at Stein's Chapel.
