Margie Marie Long
Margie Long, 80, joined her husband, Jerry L. Long in Heaven on January 12, 2015.
Survivors include her son, Ron Long, twin daughters, Beverly Haight Bryan and Barbara Chaney Pitts, son-in-laws, Bob Pitts and Samuel Bryan. Grandchildren: Chris and Derek Haight, Bryan, Raymond and Daryl Chaney, Amanda Chaney, Heather Haight and McKinzey Chaney, Josh and Sara Pitts, Travis and Christy Pitts. Great-grandchildren: Coleton and Brook Haight, Kayleigh, Kayden, Gavin, Gage and Gabby Chaney, Tara and Taylor Chaney, and Hailey Pitts, Corey and Loren Chaney.
Margie helped her husband stat the Tri-lake Swingers Square Dance Club, the DeSoto Dancers and taught Round Dance classes at Lakeside High School. She cared and taught children at the original “Tender Loving Pre-school and Day Care and also had her own business; Ms. Margie’s Pre-school.
She loved socializing with people as a Wal-Mart Demonstrator of products. Her unique personality was loved by everyone and she never met a stranger. She always put people and animals first. She was instrumental in taking care of her children and others during the Cuban Missile Crisis. She was a Bible School Teacher and put the Lord first and was a member of First Christian Church of Hot Springs.
Pallbearers are Chris and Derek Haight, Duke Haight, Bryan and Raymond Chaney and Don Barber.
Services will be at Gross Funeral Home at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 17, 2015.
