The marriage of Mr. John E. Kennedy and Miss Annie Galpin, on the evening of the 20th inst., was the social event of the year at Fort Yates. The ceremony took place at the Standing Rock Indian agency Mission church, the Rev. Father Jerome Hunt officiating. Lieut. Sage, seventeenth infantry, Lieut. Gresham, Seventh cavalry; Dr. Quinlan, agency physician; and Walter Gilbert, son of the commander of Yates, acting as ushers. Nearly the entire garrison and agency officials, and their wives and daughters, witnessed the interesting ceremony. Upon the conclusion of the church services, an adjournment was taken to the residence of H. S. Parkin, the agency trader, where the reception was held, and a most enjoyable time was had. The vivacious and beautiful bride is the youngest daughter of Mrs. Galpin. She is the sister of Mrs. Major Harmon, of Bismarck and of Mrs. H.S. Parkin the groom is the agency storekeeper at Standing Rock, a gentleman of worth. The happy couple will take an eastern wedding tour, leaving here about the 1st of April.
