Jean was a devout Christian and a faithful member of Chadwick Pentecostal Church. Singing was one of her greatest joys. She doted on her grandchildren and especially on her great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband Rev. Alva Walker in 2001, her parents and step-mother, Dorothy Ann Newberry Good, two sisters, Georgia Mae Dewitt Walters, and Blanche L. Dewitt Dean, and a brother, Albert Ray Dewitt.
Survivors include: Two sons and their wives, James Walker and Nancy, and Rick Walker and Jean; six grandchildren, Dana Powers and husband Bill, Travis Walker, Clay Walker, Cole Walker, Wes Byers and wife Heather, and Justin Byers and wife Amanda; a great-grandson, Seely Powers; six brothers, Bill Dewitt, Bob Dewitt, Ben Dewitt, Warren Dewitt, Jerry Dewitt, and Garland Dewitt; three sisters, Geraldine "Gerby", Marilyn, and Julene; and a sister by choice, Marie Applegate.
Burial in Chadwick Memorial Cemetery.
