Emmanuel Richards

1957-2014

Christopher Emmanuel Richards of Pensacola, FL passed away on Friday, December 26, 2014 at the age of 57. Mr. Richards was born in Pensacola, FL on April 19, 1957. He graduated from Escambia High School and went on to master his skill as a diesel mechanic. He owned his own business Richards Diesel Repair. His reputation proceeded him as a knowledgeable mechanic who was an honest and fair business man. He was well known in the local marinas especially at the Island Cove Marina and Bell Marina.

Chris did not have any children of his own, but considered his nieces and nephews his children. He was always there for them, worried endless about them as well as other family members, his partner, and friends. He was a very dependable, generous and selfless person, almost to a fault.

Chris could often be found restoring and sailing his sailboat. He enjoyed showing off the restoration progress on the sailboat to others. Also, he made the most delicious gumbo. In Chris's style, the gumbo was often made to share with family and friends.

Chris had sparkling deep, blue-green eyes that were as deep as a clear water spring. And a devilishly, handsome smile.

Chris is preceded in death by his parents John Willard Richards and Francis Pearl Richards also by his niece Christina Richards.

Mr. Richards is survived by his siblings: his sisters Donna Johnson (Robert) and Delores Langley, his brothers David Richards (Danelle) and Pat Richards (Cindy), and many nieces and nephews. Other special people in his life were Matt Lewis, life partner, and Vivian and Charlie Romigh, close friends.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2015; 1:30-3:30 p.m. at Island Cove Marina, 806 Lakewood Road, Pensacola.
