OBITUARY:
Neva Mae Grotts, 82, of Norman passed away Wednesday, January 15 in Chickasha. She was born November 12, 1932 to Glen Coe and Gladys Gracie (Turner) Williams in Norman. She married Don Grotts on January 15, 1951.
(Note: This date was incorrect because according to their marriage certificate, it was August 15, 1951. The date was provided to the family but the couple was pregnant with their firstborn prior to their marriage.)
Neva enjoyed the outdoors: fishing with her husband and traveling in their RV to the mountains of Colorado, and Phoenix. She also enjoyed bird watching, hummingbirds, and taking her grandkids to museums.
Neva retired from OU in 1999.
She is survived by three sons, Randy Grotts and wife Fran of Blanchard, Neil Grotts and wife Sherry of Forsyth, MO, Gordon Grotts and wife Sheri of Modesto, CA; six grandchildren, Jeremy Grotts, Eric Grotts, Donovan Grotts, Matthew Grotts, Kari McEntire, Elliot Grotts; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; two brothers, Glenn Williams, Bill Williams; one sister, Jewell Estes.
Services will be 10:00 AM Saturday, January 17 at the Primrose Chapel with burial to follow at Norman IOOF Cemetery.
