MUNCIE - Donnie B. Lucas, 86, passed away peacefully after a brief illness on Thursday, January 15, 2015. He was surrounded by his family.
Donnie was born on April 11, 1928 in Muncie, Indiana to Artie and Clarence Lucas.
Donnie enjoyed camping, waterskiing, and farming in his earlier years. Later in life he enjoyed visiting family, eating out and watching NASCAR. Most of all, Donnie's passion was helping friends and family build, fix, or repair anything.
Donnie worked at Paul Abel Buick, Truck n Trailer, and then fifty years with Mid West Towel/Cintas.
Donnie served his country in the U.S. Army and attended Williard Street Church of God.
He is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Lola, Marion, Jacobina; and brothers, Birl and John.
He is survived by his daughter, Lorraine Lusby (husband, Ray); daughter, Sharon Manship (partner, Bob); son, Donnie Lucas (wife, Mandi); daughter, Penny Vaughn (husband, Kreg); sister, Jane Skeen (husband, Bill). Also, survived by five grandsons, eight great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Monday, January 19, 2015 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Elm Ridge Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
