Marguerite E. Watson of 4111 Nova Drive died today in a local hospital following a long illness. She was 77.

Services will be Saturday at 8:30 a.m. from the Ferguson Mortuary, 212 Laurel St., then to St. Joseph's Church, Capi tola, where a requiem mass will be offered at 9 a.m. Rosary will be recited in the mortuary chapel Friday at 7 p.m. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery.

Survivors include her husband, Elmon A. Watson of Santa Cruz; a sister, Miss Ida Plummer of Santa Clara, and four nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Watson was a native of San Jose and a member of St Joseph's Church of Capitola. She and her husband were In the hotel business for many years in Palo Alto, Carmel, Woodland Washington State before moving to Santa Cruz on their retirement in 1952.
