MAN, 70, KILLED IN TRAIN CRASH
Lemuel Barnes of Warsaw Rt. 3 Fatally Injured, Accident Occurs Near Gambier
Lemuel Grant Barnes, 70, Warsaw Route 3, died Friday of a fractured skull received when the automobile in which he was riding was struck by a Pennsylvania passenger train at a crossing near Gambier. He was placed in the train, but died before he arrived in a hospital at Mt. Vernon.
Mr. Barnes' car was demolished. It was reported the impact when the engine struck the machine was so terrific that several windows in passenger coaches were broken.
The deceased was a lifelong resident of Coshocton co., but he had spent the last tow summers with a son, Charles F. Barnes, who lives five miles east of Gambier. He was a member of the Tiverton Church of Christ.
Surviving are his wife, Mary F. Barnes; two sons, Charles F. of Gambier and Foy of Grafton; a daughter, Miss Leona Barnes, Cleveland; a brother, Lorenzo Barnes, Tiverton, and five grandchildren. He was a brother-in-law of Dr. and Mrs. E. M. Wright of this city.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p. m. Sunday at the Tiverton Church of Christ, and burial will be in the church cemetery.
